State Jail Felony
Also known as “fourth-degree felonies,” state jail felonies typically entail theft of property valued at $1,500, or more, but less than $20,000. Other examples of state jail felonies include credit card or debit card abuse, DWI with a child passenger, improper photography, and evading arrest in a vehicle.
Third-Degree Felony
If the theft of property is valued at $20,000 or more, it will be considered a third-degree felony. It’s important to point out that the value must be less than $100,000. Other examples of third-degree felonies include: drive-by shootings with no injury, indecent exposure to a child, and possession of 5 to 50 pounds of marijuana.
